Disc Cartridges are a circle of metal base material with 10 charges fitted to it. They are designed for use in powder actuated fixing tools. The explosive charges are initiated by a ‘rim fire’ mechanism. The priming composition and the gunpowder are hermetically sealed from the environment, and can only be opened by destroying the casing.
